与謝野町で布にまつわるものづくりをする４者が集い、各自の特色を出し合って、天然素材の力を活かした製品づくりに取組んでいます。
In Yosano, a town located in the Tango region of northern Kyoto, four cloth-related craftspeople have come together to create products that make the most of the power of natural materials by sharing their own unique characteristics.
糸井 拓 [ Taku Itoi ]

代々和装小物生地専門に、糸繰り・合糸から白生地を製織してきたが、絹の良さを追究しているうちに「真綿」に行き着く。養蚕の勉強のために、京都工芸繊維大学、東京農工大学に学び、四国の養蚕農家に弟子入りする。また滋賀の真綿職人に弟子入りし真綿技術を学び、後継になった。真綿の新製法を開発し、丹後の絹の伝統を込めた真綿をつくるべく更なる追究を果敢に進める。

Specializing in fabrics for kimono accessories for generations, he has been weaving white fabrics from folded yarn and twisted yarn. Still, while pursuing the good qualities of silk, he came across "silk fiber". To study sericulture, he attended Kyoto Institute of Technology and Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, and apprenticed himself to a sericulture farmer in Shikoku. He also apprenticed himself to a floss silk craftsman in Shiga, acquiring the techniques of floss silk production, and became the successor. He developed a new method of making floss silk with the silk tradition of Tango.
大江 稔子 [ Toshiko Oe ]

多種多様なシルクの広幅服地を扱う。生地の卸やカット販売の他、シンプルに縫える洋服の提案をする。シルクに触れる多くのシーンをつくるべく、パジャマや作務衣等の製品化、また他産地ともコラボし、傘やお軸等も展開する。環境に配慮した天然染料によるシルク生地の染色・丹後の間伐材での「原木染」にも取り組む。

Specializing in a wide of silk textiles. To create many opportunities for people to come into contact with silk, they produce items such as pajamas, pillowcases, hanging scrolls and other items. Also involved in dying silk fabrics using environmentally friendly ‘’raw timber dyeing’’ wood from thinned forests in Tango region.

昔ながらの手仕事を愛し、土づくり、棉の育成、綿花の手摘み、手紡ぎ、草木染め…そして手織りで布にする工程をすべて手がける。糸を紡ぐガラ紡績機や角真綿を作る枠等必要に応じて用具も製作。金属線や皮を使った織物、オーガニックコットン、シルク100%の「きびそ」を織り、様々な生地を生み出している。

He has a passion for traditional crafts and handles the entire process of cloth making, from soil preparation, cotton cultivation, hand-picking, hand-spinning, and hand-dyeing, to hand-weaving. He takes a holistic approach to fabric making, from soil preparation, cultivation, hand-picking of cotton, hand-spinning, natural dyeing, hand-weaving, and so on. He also creates tools as needed, such as a spinning machine for spinning yarn and frames for making cotton squares. He weaves metal wire, leather, organic cotton, and 100% silk "Kibiso" to create a variety of fabrics.

明治8年来、生糸1本から織り上げるまでの工程をすべて自社で行なう。八丁撚糸機で強い撚りをかけた緯糸を使い、生地の表面に肉厚の凹凸状の「しぼ」が出る高級「鬼しぼ」ちりめんの生地を製織する。

Since 1875, Marusen has been involved in every step of the process from raw silk thread to weaving in-house. Using weft yarns twisted tightly on a Hatcho twisting machine, the company weaves high-quality "Oni-shibo" chirimen fabric, which has a thick, uneven "shibo" texture on the surface of the material.
